Patrick Demarchelier photographs princesses and superstars, but it's fashion that intrigues him.
He said: 'My job is to make clothes look beautiful - but with couture, it's easy'

He worked for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, first in September 1992 which resulted in a 12-year collaboration. He has also shot covers for Rolling Stone, Glamour, Life, Newsweek, Elle and Mademoiselle. Demarchelier has shot international advertising campaigns for  Dior, Louis Vuitton, Celine, TAG Heuer, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Lacoste, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, Armani, Versace, Banana Republic, Lancôme, Valentino, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan, L’Oreal, Estée Lauder, Elizabeth Arden, Revlon, Gianfranco Ferré, and so on.

Beginning in 1989, he was the official photographer of Princess Diana of Wales, becoming the first non-Briton to become an official photographer for the Royal Family. Demarchelier was awarded the contract for the 2005 Pirelli Calendar.

For nearly three decades now, Demarchelier has been one of the world's pre-eminent celebrity portraitists and fashion photographers.

Influenced by classical painting and photographic works, Demarchelier has an elegant taste in photography. He is adept in controlling light, and interpreting the outline and structure of body. Demarchelier loves spontaneity. He insists his photography style is to show the beauty from inside of his subjects, and it’s at the beginning or end of a photo shoot that he unveils the subjects’ natural essence. “I don't like exhibitionist women, like the ones you see in the pages of Playboy.”

In this post I present few unique and amazing portraits which he realised:

W skrócie - Patrick Demarchelier to jeden z największych mistrzów fotografii mody naszych czasów. Jego prace były publikowane w wydaniach najbardziej uznanych i renomowanych magazynów modowych. Fotografie Demacheliera to niewątpliwie sztuka sama w sobie.
